Frank has over 20 years of experience in investment management and related capital markets functions, including directing a team of over 30 portfolio managers, analysts and traders responsible for implementing asset allocation and investment strategies covering fixed income (government and credit), public and private equities, infrastructure and global currencies.
Frank has worked at iA Financial Group since 2001 and has held the positions of Private Placement Portfolio Manager; Director of Corporate Credits and Private Placements; Vice-President, Portfolio Management, General Funds; and Vice-President, Investment Funds.
Most recently, Frank served as Vice-President, Business Development, where he was responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and the establishment of an in-house venture capital fund to further diversify iA Financial Group’s core offerings.
Yanick joined iA Capital Markets in 2021, bringing almost 25 years of industry experience. In his current role, he is responsible for managing the operations of the Research, Sales and Trading departments. Yanick also leads strategic projects aimed at improving the operational efficiency and interactions of teams across the firm, while ensuring all activities remain compliant with regulatory requirements.
Prior to joining iA Capital Markets, Yanick was Managing Director & Head of Equities at CIBC World Markets, where he was responsible for the Montreal institutional equity office. Prior to that, he was Vice-President, Sales and a Trader at Blackmont.
Yanick holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Concordia University.
Leon joined iA Capital Markets in 2022 and has over 15 years of industry experience. He was previously Executive Director of Equity Sales at CIBC Capital Markets, where he led the development of a new business platform with the largest pension fund in Quebec. Prior to CIBC, Leon was Vice-President & Equity Research Analyst at National Bank Financial, covering over 40 small/mid-cap companies including Stella-Jones, Savaria, Park Lawn, Cascades, Uni-Select, GoodFood, Boyd Group, Intertape Polymer, Stantec, WSP, and SNC. He began his career as an Equity Research Analyst with the capital markets division of iA Securities, which in 2021 was rebranded as iA Capital Markets.
Leon holds a Bachelor of commerce degree in finance from the University of Sherbrooke and an MSc. in international finance and capital markets from Brighton University in the UK.
David joined the firm in 2020, bringing over 30 years of industry experience. He is responsible for all Capital Markets functions across Equities, Fixed Income and FX, including Research, Sales & Trading, Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets, as well as coverage on major clients.
David has held key leadership roles at several organizations. Before joining iA Capital Markets, he was Vice-Chairman of Echelon Wealth Partners, where he helped manage the firm’s growing investment banking division. Prior to Echelon, David was a founder and Vice-Chairman of Dundee Securities, where he managed the firm’s investment banking and capital markets activities for more than 15 years. During this period, he was directly responsible for managing more than $18 billion of equity financing, focused primarily in the resource and real estate sectors, and for initiating approximately 50 significant M&A initiatives involving both domestic and international organizations and investors. In addition, David helped launch a number of structured products that have provided attractive returns for participating retail investors.
David began his financial career with the National Energy Board of Canada in Ottawa. He later joined Amoco Production Company and held progressively senior positions in the organization’s Calgary, Houston and Chicago offices, during which he played key roles in the company’s global M&A division. Following the sale of Amoco to BP Petroleum, David returned to Canada as an investment banker with Midland Doherty.
David earned a B.A. (Economics) and MBA from the University of Manitoba, and has held a number of board and audit committee positions with NYSE- and TSX-listed companies.
Richard joined the firm in 2013 and has almost 30 years of capital markets experience. He is responsible for overseeing the firm’s retail and institutional traders, including the equity liability trading team. He is also responsible for ensuring that the firm has the most up-to-date trading systems and a full suite of leading-edge algorithms.
Prior to joining iA Capital Markets, Richard held progressively senior roles at a number of full-service and boutique brokerage firms, including Mackie Research Capital Corporation, Stonecap Securities, Westwind Partners and TD Securities.
Richard studied business administration and management at St. Lawrence College.
Vilma is an accomplished senior capital markets professional with extensive experience in public and private equity financing, issuer and institutional investor relations, and collaborating with institutional sales, trading and research, as well as wealth management advisors.
She has an exceptional track record in the capital markets arena that spans more than 25 years, completing over 2,000 new issues through a variety of syndicates ranging from $2 million to $1.6 billion and raising over $115 billion in the Canadian marketplace.
Vilma graduated from Ryerson University with a business diploma and has completed the Technical Analysis course with Honors at the Canadian Securities Institute. In 2017, she was nominated for the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) Canada’s Top 100 Women, Corporate Executives Award.
With over 15 years at iA Capital Markets, Pierre-François currently serves as head of the syndication department and sits on the iA Wealth Management product approval committee. He previously oversaw the retail trading desk and advisor services, and was a branch manager for three years.
Prior to joining iA Capital Markets, Pierre-François was a financial advisor with another Canadian dealer and a licensed insurance representative. Before joining the securities industry, he owned and operated a marketing company in Chile, South America.
Pierre-François completed a Bachelor’s degree in finance at Laval University and holds the Derivative Market Specialist designation from the Canadian Securities Institute.
Yves joined the firm in 2012 and has over 30 years of experience in capital markets. As head of the bond desk, he oversees a team of traders and is responsible for ensuring that the desk adheres to its risk parameters and compliance requirements. Yves is also responsible for advising senior management on all matters relating to the desk’s activities.
In addition to his managerial role, Yves actively trades bonds for institutional clients and internal retail advisors across a variety of sectors, including REITs, oil and gas, telecommunications, infrastructure and retail.
Before joining iA Capital Markets, Yves spent 10 years as head of the fixed income division at Penson Financial Services. Prior to that, he was an accountant and bond trader at a boutique firm based in Montreal.
Yves studied accounting at the University of Montreal.
Pierre has over 30 years of industry experience and is a recognized authority in OTC interest rate and currency derivatives.
Prior to joining iA Capital Markets, Pierre played a leading role in establishing the foreign exchange department at Echelon Wealth Partners. He previously held senior roles at BMO Capital Markets, where he was responsible for debt origination; National Bank Financial and CIBC World Markets, where he helped develop the interest rate and currency derivatives desks; and Desjardins, where he served as Vice-President of Business Development.
Pierre holds an MBA in Finance from HEC Montréal.
